Day 151 31 May – chimney sweep

My first experience with a chimney sweep. Apparently our flute is healthy with very little debris or rust. Who knew?!

While the chimney sweep was doing what he does best, I couldn’t help but think that he will break out into song any minute now.

Chim chiminey
Chim chiminey
Chim chim cher-ee!
A sweep is as lucky
As lucky can be.

Chim chiminey
Chim chiminey
Chim chim cher-oo!
Good luck will rub off when
I shakes ‘ands with you
Or blow me a kiss
And that’s lucky too.

Day 139 19 May – snap

In a fundraising support for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the kids had to dress up as “When I grow up I want to be a …”. Although my daughter has wanted to become a vet since an early age, she has been thinking about spreading her interest a bit further. And with age comes sensible thinking, and she realized that you don’t have to only have one occupation. She dressed as a photographer. I’m not too sure what a photographer would look like, but we imagined a bit artsy, comfortable clothing with a camera around their neck.

Lately she has developed an interest in photography. She has been asked on numerous occasions by her rhythmic gymnastics friends to be a model for their assignments. She is very comfortable in front of a camera. But through this she has learned a lot of what happens behind the scenes of photography.

She also selected photography as her passion project for the William Pike Challenge Award, and his happily snapping away at anything and everything.
